Patrick John Flueger (born December 10, 1983) is an American actor best known as Shawn Farrell in the television series The 4400. He currently plays Adam Ruzek in the NBC drama Chicago P.D.
Flueger was the eldest of three siblings born in Red Wing, Minnesota. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 2002. Flueger’s breakthrough role was in the Disney film The Princess Diaries. Several television appearances followed, including JAG, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and CSI: Miami.
He went on to play Shawn Farrell in the USA Network series The 4400. (2004–07). Flueger landed the role of Rusty in Anthony Hopkins’ film The World’s Fastest Indian while still working on The 4400. Flueger co-starred in The World’s Fastest Indian with Antony Starr.
Flueger was later cast as the American version of the character Starr played in Outrageous Fortune, which was renamed Scoundrels in the United States and aired on ABC during the summer of 2010. He is set to appear in a number of other films, including Blowtorch Films’ You Are Here, The Job, based on the play by Shem Bitterman, and Chris Moore’s Kill Theory.
Flueger was among those who screen tested for the role of Captain America in the 2011 feature film in February 2010. Since 2011, he has been credited with his full name, Patrick John Flueger.
Flueger debuted as rookie officer Ruzek on the Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D. in August 2013. The show debuted on January 8, 2014.
