Understanding when your payment is processed
The “credited” date is the date on which your payment becomes effective, determining whether you paid on time and calculating interest.
Your payment will be displayed online as a transaction in your account activity and applied to your account balance on the “posted” date (evening).
If you make a payment online before 8 PM ET, your payment will be credited the same day and also your payment will be posted the same day except on Saturday they’ll post it Sunday evening.
If you make a payment online between 8 PM and 11:59 PM ET, your payment will be credited the same day, and also your payment will be posted the next day except for Friday, they’ll post it Sunday evening.
Don’t worry if you pay at least the minimum amount due between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on the due day, your payment will still be received on time. Your account will be charged a late fee tomorrow, but we’ll immediately reverse it after the payment posts in 1-2 days.
Note: This table’s online payments are made by logging in and selecting the chase.com credit card payment option from the drop-down menu. Payments made on other websites or through other Chase.com services, such as Chase Bill Pay, may take longer to process.

When will Chase process my credit card payment?
To find out when your payment will be completed, go to chase.com/paycard. They’ll make your payment automatically on your due date if you’ve enrolled in automatic payments.
If that day comes on a weekend, your payment will be made the Friday prior.
If you send us a check or money order and it arrives before 5 p.m. local time at the payment location on your statement, we’ll credit your account the same day.
How do I change a payment I’ve set up?
Payments made with a single credit card cannot be changed. If your payment hasn’t arrived yet, you can cancel it and make a new one.
Go to Payment Activity to examine your recent payment activity.
How do I set up or manage automatic payments?
Automatic Payments can be set up on chase.com or through the Chase mobile app.
When you enroll, you’ll be asked to choose a pay-from account and a payment amount (e.g. your statement balance, your minimum payment due or fixed amount).
Your credit card will be automatically charged each month on your due date (unless it is a Saturday).
Can I make an additional payment before my automatic payment?
You have the option to make an additional payment at any time. We’ll reduce the automatic payment by the amount of your first payment if you pay before the due date.
We won’t make the automatic payment that month if your first payment is greater than the automatic payment amount. Every day, you can make online and mobile payments.
Can I change my payment due date?
As long as your account isn’t in default, you can adjust your due date. When you’re signed in to your account, go to the “Things you can do” tab to update your due date.
“Update settings & preferences” is the first option, followed by “Payment due date.” Each month, your due date can be any day between the 1st and the 28th of the month.
Please make your payments by the original due date until we formally change the date, as it takes us 1 or 2 billing cycles to complete your request.
